Louisiana Cuisine Origins

Cajun seasoning is a result of the French, Spanish and African settler's cooking. Cajun cuisine was considered to be a food for the peasants. Cajun seasoning and cooking originated in southern Louisiana and is still used and eaten today. One of the main things eaten in Louisiana is seafood due to its proximity to the large Gulf of Mexico. This story map will take a look into the few of many great seafood and Cajun food restaurants in Louisiana as well as the locations of the origins of Louisiana cuisine in general.
